Our Story: How it all started...

Moving to Aruba wasn’t exactly part of some grand plan or dream I had growing up. It was a step that came with its own challenges, but I embraced it with an open mind. I didn’t know what to expect, but as I settled into the island’s rhythm, I discovered something interesting: the island’s natural beauty and abundant materials surrounding me.

Turning Waste Into Craft

I’ve always loved working with my hands, creating something out of raw materials. Back home, I’d try my hand at all sorts of crafts - pottery, jewelry, or woven items. So, when I saw the potential of Aruba’s natural resources, I wondered if I could turn the natural fibers into something useful and beautiful.

Dried fibers from palm trees, the materials that were often left behind as waste, seemed like the interesting medium to work with. These fibers are sturdy, flexible, and unique. I started experimenting, turning them into bags and accessories. What began as an experiment soon became a true passion.

Why Dried Fiber Leaves?

The fibers I use in my creations come from the abundant palm trees and plants in Aruba. They’re more than just waste materials - they’re natural treasures with great potential. The warm tones of the dried leaves, with their sunbaked colors, evoke the island’s landscapes. Each item made from these fibers tells a little piece of Aruba’s story.
